30 new high-speed trains with senorail®

From 2022, Deutsche Bahn will expand its long-distance fleet with 30 new high-speed trains. Our long-standing partner, Siemens Mobility GmbH, was able to secure the order with a volume of half a billion euros. When choosing the paint finish, Siemens Mobility GmbH decided to coat the new ICE with our modern, innovative and sustainable senorail® basecoat/clearcoat system.

Siemens Mobility GmbH relies on senorail®

For the painting of the 30 new high-speed trains for Deutsche Bahn, Siemens Mobility GmbH choose our innovative senorail® basecoat/clearcoat system, which made it possible to achieve the unmistakable, high-gloss surface. Furthermore, the senorail® system convinces with outstanding corrosion protection, lasting gloss and colour stability, highest weather resistance, very good cleanability (e.g. of graffiti) and fulfils the highest fire protection according to EN 45545-2. By using a modified filler, which achieves the properties and approvals of primers, it was even possible to save one work step.

Sustainability by senorail®

The Deutsche Bahn are already working intensively on a strong and environmentally friendly rail. If a fast train
connection with the new models replaces a flight, 16.4 tonnes of CO2 are already saved today. But sustainabili-
ty is also playing an increasingly important role along the value chain. senorail® pursues a holistic approach: from the careful selection of raw materials, to the use of renewable energies at production sites, to products that impress with their improved longevity and performance. senorail® places a clear focus on sustainability, as this protects not only the environment, but also employees in the manufacturing process and end users. This is why sustainable water-based paint systems were added to the entire senorail® product portfolio many years ago.
