WEILBURGER GOES SUSTAINABLE

Weilburger does not wash itself green and claims not to be 100% sustainable as a paint manufacturer. However, we already rely on efficient processes in the development and manufacture of our products and keep our focus on environmental and health protection. Our goals are ambitious and we work every day to become even more sustainable. This pays off for us, our customers and the environment.

We think long-term-oriented, our focus is on innovation.

The green factory in Beselich

At our newest location in Beselich-Obertiefenbach near Weilburg we already produce 100% water-based. Thanks to investments in photovoltaic systems, we can now produce enough energy not only to cover the demand for our activities, but also to feed 20% of the electricity generated into the grid. In this way we save 280t CO2 per year.

Investments in sustainable production plants

In 2019, the world's most modern plant for the production of aqueous coatings for the graphics industry was commissioned at our Gerhardshofen site. The full automation of this plant according to Industry 4.0 standard already enables us to produce different water-based coating systems in almost unlimited quantities economically, ecologically sustainable and in highest quality.

Into the future with renewable energies

WEILBURGER is also continuing along the path of sustainability in its use of energy at our site in Gehardshofen. For several years now, 100% green energy has been used, in addition to the energy generated by our own photovoltaic system and combined heat and power plant. The resulting reduction in CO2 emissions amounts to more than 200 tons per year.

Climate neutral company since 2020

Companies are climate neutral if their carbon emissions are calculated and offset with the support of internationally recognised climate protection projects. We have been a ClimatePartner since 2020 and are therefore climate neutral as a company (indirect emissions occurring outside the company, such as from the production of raw materials and precursors, external logistics, and the use and disposal of products or other processes, are not subject to climate neutrality). We support two projects: Hydropower, Virunga, D.R. Congo and Forest Conservation, April Salumei, Papua New Guinea. Further information at www.climatepartner.com/14543-2007-1001
